ORIGINAL RANT FROM OCT 2004 - I have no idea what page I'm talking about O_o]
This is the last of the introspective pages or as I like to call them, the stream of conscious scene breaks. I hope they come off as powerful and as insightful as I intended them to be. Juno really is a complicated person when it comes to her feelings and her priorities. And it seems that no matter how much I think I know her character, I still find myself sitting and wondering what she really would do in this situation. You guys haven't seen a fourth of the complexity that goes behind her character which kind of puts you at a disadvantage. All through the story I've had people tell me that they never know how to feel about Juno, whether to hate her, pity her, love her. Honestly, I take it as a compliment because you shouldn't know how you feel about her completely yet. Well, maybe since the scene where she breaks down about the guy she killed - that was a major developmental milestone for her.
Blah! Onto other news: We got several new store items! The sketchbooks which seem to be very popular amongst you guys now has four seperate faces including two of Juno, the pinup of Pike, one of Shades, and soon the pinup of Sam. Got some new posters in as well as some smaller, more affordable prints. Coming up we'll be offering mugs, shirts, hoodies, and buttons but it's taking us a lot more time to redesign the store than we planned. Stay tuned though! Also, Book1 is up in the store available for preorder. I had someone express concern about not wanting to order the book because it's in grayscale. DO NOT let that stop you! Remember, SCD is originally a grayscale comic! It looks best in gray in my opinion. Really gets that noir feeling going.
Also, while it's still up in the air - SCD will be attending Katsucon 11 this February and we SHOULD have books available! Should... it all depends on how hard I can work over the next two weeks and if the printer can get them out. I'm going to focus on getting chapter 1 redone this week and then ch2 and 3 redone next week along with the end of ch5. What this means for you: The webversion will attempt to stay to a two a week schedule. This could mean that the book is released before the actual end of the webversion. Or not. I'm really not sure. We might have a period where we have some slow updates but I have to focus on getting those previous chapters revamped. I'll keep you posted though.
