VOTE for finished paint of doom!
The rant I just erased in the comic engine was one of those rants you look back on and sigh at. This entry is originally from June of 2005 which is incredibly hard to believe and almost sad. That long has passed and so much has happened since then. It was a sullen girl who talked about marriage and friends who could sing, flowers and all that. It's bizarre and cosmic to think that in this rant today I planned on writing about the same things... but with a different person... a different time, a whole other place. That's the crap that jars you. It makes you sigh. And still two years later it makes you ask, why?
In other news! Not so dreary and nostalgic - I had a good Fourth of July this past week. Hope all you in the States did as well. I got to take my baby girl, Rally out to Natchez Trace Parkway and cruise all afternoon. For those who still don't know, Rally is my 78 Camaro of doom. See here. Came back with quite a nice tan and 100 miles on break-in. Only 300 miles really left to go. It would be so much easier if it wasn't so damn hot. Vinyl seats make me all gross. Blech. But she's doing so much better since the whole fiasco. She ran for nearly three hours out in the heat and didn't have a problem once. The cooling is inconsistent but I suppose to be expected though I am really starting to ponder whether there's a whole round of stant thermostats out there that are just bad. The Daytona has issues like she does. Course they share issues... ever since they met they've started taking on each other's traits. It's the craziest (creepiest) thing I've ever seen. It's like they're an old married couple... old married couple of cars. And suddenly I miss the Daytona. Raff is still in Texas now with fuel delivery problems on start up. I know. The fun never stops around here. The motorcycle is fine by the way and the daily driver sends its regards.
Otakon is coming SO SOON. Next weekend! Up in the news box is where I'm going to keep my bits of information for that. It's easier than trying to keep up with rants. I like the new site design. I feel so efficient! It so helps my compulsiveness.
I've also added a page dedicated to those who are curious as to what's going on. Yes, this should have gone up months ago. I didn't really think it was that bad. Y'all can email me... you know that right? I do respond. I'm one of those rare comic creators who does that. But hopefully that page will help answer your questions. If you have anymore you can email me and I will make magic happen!
Our current sponser, PinkTA is actually one of my favorite reads. Very awesome coloring, intuitive layout and design, deep storytelling. Check it out. It's over on my favorite community site as well, Drunk Duck which is where you can find the SCD Mirror, a groovy place where you can leave comments on the pages and all that. Tis lots of fun!
Book 1 ends in August. And so does my free time. I have three cons in August. Good lord. But it's coming so soon. I will likely at points in Book 2 go to a once a week schedule due to the cons and you know, getting married and taking a honeymoon, all that jazz. It depends on how badly my groove gets screwed up during all that. But I am really looking forward to debuting Book 2. It's gonna be a lot of fun. Lots of action, new characters, new story arcs - yeah, it's gonna be fun. Less than ten pages! Get ready! And spread the word. I realized my link buttons were so old. I'm going to be making new ones. SCD is totally link free, ie you can link me all you want, you don't have to ask and you hot link right off my server (which the exception of those of you who are high traffic. That would just hurt too much). Let the old cult know the new stuff is up. Do a dance! I'm going to, that's for damn sure.

A-kon, not to be confused with Akon in a google search, as you’ll rap instead of cosplay. So… A-kon 18, it was my first time to this con, and I have to say I had a lot of fun, except for that case of food poisoning I got from hotel food on Sunday that had Juno running all over the place trying to figure out what to do with me. I survived that though, thank god…
I have to say, I was very impressed with the cosplay I saw at this convention. The best though (which got a standing ovation from me, Xero, and a few others) is when Vash the Stampede came down the escalator with his angle arm gun in correct proportions… for those of you who are not aware of what this means, it was HUGE. I actually saw them loading the prop into a car at the end of the convention, and it touched the front dashboard, and went out the back of the hatchback. HUGE!!!
In other news, yes, I am a slacker when it comes to my rants. I would try to convince you I’m crazy busy at work, and at home, but I’ll let the lack of rants do the talking.
