The OtaWrap

VOTE for upcoming characters!

This rant has taken me a while mostly because Otakon has left me feeling a bit heavy and exhausted. I did have a great time and I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by our table, picked up a business card, bought one of Xero's books or a copy of SCD Volume 1 or one of our prints or even just stopped to say hi. Thank you to everyone who took time out of their Saturday night to come stop by our little panel. It meant a lot! I hope you enjoyed it and I'm kinda sorry I wasn't better prepared like usual. The new tablet drivers really messed up the computer's groove. And ultimately, it messed up mine so much I left my power supply behind. Hopefully I'll get it back...

I'd like to thank Mookie for his awesome company all weekend and for continually making Otakon 07 brighter. You're the best. Xero you know that this studio would be a void without you and that you bring in so much and we love you for it. You are the awesome master of signs and wit. More love out to Jax and Dave for being so sweet.

I was lucky this con that I actually got to go and see some of the city. California Pizza has the best pasta in the world right next to the mobster joint a la fantastico Sabbatinos. If you want beer that can get you drunk and a caffeine buzz at the same time, Capitol Hill has a beer called Fuel. I was thoroughly impressed. Though, if you're lactose intolerant (or vegan) don't misbehave and have the bread unless you really want the pain. Did we learn our lesson? We'll find out next year I guess when we do it all again. ^_^

Post A-kon

A-kon, not to be confused with Akon in a google search, as you’ll rap instead of cosplay. So… A-kon 18, it was my first time to this con, and I have to say I had a lot of fun, except for that case of food poisoning I got from hotel food on Sunday that had Juno running all over the place trying to figure out what to do with me. I survived that though, thank god…

I have to say, I was very impressed with the cosplay I saw at this convention. The best though (which got a standing ovation from me, Xero, and a few others) is when Vash the Stampede came down the escalator with his angle arm gun in correct proportions… for those of you who are not aware of what this means, it was HUGE. I actually saw them loading the prop into a car at the end of the convention, and it touched the front dashboard, and went out the back of the hatchback. HUGE!!!

In other news, yes, I am a slacker when it comes to my rants. I would try to convince you I’m crazy busy at work, and at home, but I’ll let the lack of rants do the talking.
