Prologues and staying up

VOTE for ARTz!

Commentary:
Click the page!! I like the prologue of Book 2. I think it's actually pretty well written to a point where you almost don't need a "Previously in SCD..." but yet you'd still want it. I'm not too happy with the page itself but I remember this originally took me over two weeks because of my asinine perfectionism. So like hell if I'm gonna start screwing with it again. Vote to preview the inks for the next page! Full page will be available for voting on Friday.

Banter:
Mike goes to Memphis once a month to check on his projects. Have I mentioned Mike's a Fed? Well, yes. He is a Fed. This tickles me everytime I think about it. Anyway, so he goes on these trips which usually I stay behind back at home so I can get endless amounts of work done and do. I just usually end up staying up to all hours of the night. It's almost like old times before the corporate world got me in 2006. I find I can't do it nearly as well. Kinda sad. But that's why this page is up later in the day than usual, other than the fact that the other computer's FTP has gone kersplat.

I'm still working on the website as you can see via the twitter. I'm hoping to have this done before I leave for my convention tour of Texas. Which if you're in South East Texas come stop by RealmsCon. I'll be there doing panels and chatting with folks along with Chris from Misfile. I won't be hitting Anime Fest this year unfortunately. Sorry everyone.

Oh, and on the subject of Twitters, if you ever need your daily dose of WTF, check out my Twitter. Because it's FUN!

Some links for you guys - Band named Barcelona out of Seattle just released their debut album yesterday on iTunes and is releasing their CD September 25th. I actually have a review of them on iTunes but if you can't get that, they come highly recommended from me. A more melancholy version of The Fray with super long epic songs and brilliant lyrical storytelling. It's the kind of music if I had a band and lyrical talent I'd totally write. So please give them a listen and support this totally awesome still Indie group.

Next week Tuesday I'm supposed to be on a plane. I'm going to try and update before I leave so pray nothing explodes! See you then. And if you want to, you can vote for sneak peeks of it!

Otakon + Counting On Yer Fingers

Otakon - So, as Juno said, we returned from Otakon a week ago (this morning) and are we glad to be home. Once upon a time I could drive 1000 miles in a day and shrug it off. Now, 7 to 8 hundred miles is about all I can stand, and thats with help. Travel aside, I thought Otakon went quite well. I got to hang out with Xero of the Swordwaltzer, Mr. Mookie of Dominic Deegan and "Have You Had The Bread?!?" I also got to see Ananth and Hawk from Applegeeks when they stopped by to chat with Juno and Mookie and of course I talked it up with Jax who sat next to us from [sic] productions. One of the best parts of con had to be Xero's signs... Xero KNOWS... (you had to be there I guess)...

Fingers - As far as counting on my fingers, please allow me to pass along my recent experience so that you might not find yourself in my shoes. I was making a presentation to my supervisor, his supervisor, and the head of the office concerning a problem on one of my projects. I have been working on this issue for quite a while, and I was lost in covering the details when I came to my two points.

If you see where this is going, be quiet so you don't spoil it for everyone else.

So, I come to my two, very important points, and to illustrate I hold up two fingers (to follow along, raise your left hand and extend your index and middle finger). So, I begin to make my first, very important point, and things are going quite well. Then, I went to make my second point. Yes, I lowered my index finger. Here I am, in a very important meeting that is going oh so well, and I have just flipped my boss, his boss, and the head of the office the finger (a.k.a. the bird). If everyone hadn't started laughing, I probably would have looked for the nearest rock to crawl under to never be heard from again.

The moral of the story, don't count down on your fingers, count up (unless you're just counting to one)...
