What is going on here?!
Star Cross'd Destiny has been around since the 24 of September 2003. It started out as a side project and became a monster of its own. During the course of two years 120 pages were completed for online. In that time 70 of them ended up being redone for print. Story elements were added, the script and art was tested for consistency and the project came together to be what it was originally intended. Now what sits on this site is a crude reminder of the pain and the past. That is soon to change.
If you've read the rants throughout the life of SCD you'll remember times of serious misfortune with me, Juno Blair B. I am damned, flat out damned. I was admitted to the ER at least 4 times during SCD's duration, one time being diagnosed with a benign brain tumor (It's dead now. You can call him Mortimor). I was diagnosed with epilepsy and as medication therapy went on I got terribly inconsistent with updates. Then to top things off, I moved three times. Then to make matters worse, the last time I moved my fiancee of four years and I split up. Considering him my muse for this site, I temporarily shut it down in mourning.
Mourning's done finished kiddos."But Chapter 6 is available in Print! Why not throw it all up at once?"
Well, the comic engine can't handle that. Tis not how it's built. And I don't think that the site would really benefit from that. I know this sucks in some parts... but this buffer is good for me and honestly, very good for you as if you've been a reader for a long time you know I tend to encourage explosions in my life. This will help keep away any delays from illness or family crisis at least though I may still miss a page here and there because of con.I truly hope all of you understand why things are the way they are. I do apologize for this confusion and lengthy restart. I want to thank everyone who has supported the comic by purchasing a copy of Volume 1 or Chapter 6. I look forward to sharing this story with you further! Stick arouond. :D
FAQ!
// About the comic
You keep saying SCD. What is that?
Star Cross'd Destiny = SCD
Is this comic created after a novel?
Yup, it sure is. Star Cross'd Destiny is being converted from Star-Crossed Destiny a novel I started writing in 1999 when I was fourteen. The book itself is seperated into three seperate volumes.
Where can I get a copy of the novel?
Right now the novel is being hidden for obvious reasons of ruining the comic.
Are any of your books published?
Star Cross'd Destiny is published. You can get a copy of it here. My novels are not published because I'm hoping to turn them into graphic novels someday just like SCD. The only book in line for publishing is my poetry book, Psychotic;Glimpse.
Can I use your images as my desktop wallpaper?
I would appreciate an email first but yes, you can. That is however the only thing you can use my images for unless you email me first. And yes, I will find them so don't even try it. You can also use SCD images as avatars if it really suits your fancy.
When was this story written?
The first draft of book 1 and 2 started being written in 1999. It has only been revised since then.
Will SCD ever be updated faster?
No.
How long is this going to be?
Longer than I want it to be I'm sure. I'm hoping on five volumes. That is, of course, if my life ever straightens itself out enough to put that at less than thirty years from now. Which it IS starting to do, for those who have said that across the internet.
Is Sam black?
Nope, Sam is actually filipino/hispanic. While I'm on this, I'll clear up all the confusion. Juno is Japanese/Caucasian, Shades is Scotch/Irish, Pike and Sara are both whiter than paper plates. *nods*
What exactly does Juno control?
Juno contorls Air, not storm. It's a common misconception since the controllers themselves are going off what they can guess. More of this will be cleared up in Chapter 7.When is Book 2 coming out?
When someone makes magic happen so I can draw like the wind!
What do you use to create your pages?
I draw the images on paper using a brush pen, then the line art is scanned into the computer. The images are colored in photoshop and panels are arranged as well in photoshop. At Chapter 7 I start inking digitally and I do this in Flash.
What do you use to make your webpages?
While I was once one to swear upon the use of Notepad I use Dreamweaver now to speed up the process.
Tools of the trade?
traditional: Mechanical Pencils for the win, Fabercastle Brush Pen, the voices in my head
digital: Photoshop CS3, Flash CS3, Intuos3 9x12 tablet and my soundtrack of a million bands
Will you do gift art exchanges?
Not anymore, sadly. I still owe a million people art so until I pay my debt I don't see me doing exchanges again. Will you draw my project?
No. I cannot afford the time away from this comic. Very sorry. But if you email me I can point you to a number of totally awesome, skilled artists and communities of artists who may be able to do your project.Do you take commissions?
On a super rare occasion, yes. Feel free to email me. My email can be found on the front page of the comic. Will you sell me your Camaro or Daytona?
For 17 BILLION dollars in cash or direct wire to a bank in the Caymens. And even with that most likely hell no. Same goes for the cat.
Where did you learn how to draw?
I never really learned how to draw. I just kinda do. I just started drawing seriously again in March of 2003 and it's just kinda morphed into what it is now. Will your company publish me?
Bohemian Trash Studios isn't taking new artists that I know of so doubtful. But it never hurts to ask. They don't take teams though so keep that in mind.
